Betty “Nana” Teel, age 82 of Wayne, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017. Betty Jo Smith was born October 6, 1934 in Marlow, OK, the youngest of 7 children born to Joel Edward and Lida (Crain) Smith.
She was raised in Marlow and attended Marlow Schools, graduating with the Class of 1952. She married Bobby Larrimore, and to this union, 2 sons, Michael and Bobby were born. A few years later, Bobby preceded her death. In 1961, Betty met a returning serviceman from Sentinel named Glen Teel. They fell instantly in love and were married on April 2, 1961 in Marlow. They settled in Wayne and built a home there, and later welcomed three more children, Dale, Ted and Sherri. Betty worked for more than 26 years for Westinghouse/York, retiring as an Amp Machine Operator. Betty also worked alongside Glen as owner and operators of Teel’s Grocery Store in Wayne. Her greatest joy however was being a homemaker, caring and providing for her family. Betty lived and loved well, and she always chose to see the good in people. She was known as simply, “Nana”. Betty was a longtime and faithful member of the 7th & Monroe Church of Christ in Purcell. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her husbands, Bobby Larrimore and Glen Teel in March of 2014; 2 sons, Michael Larrimore and Ted Teel; Her parents, Joel and Lida Smith and Siblings, Braxton Smith, Edna Banks, Willie R. Smith, and Fred Smith.
Betty leaves behind: 2 sons, Bobby Larrimore and wife Vanessa of Burleson, TX and Dale Teel and wife Wanda of Elgin, OK. Daughter, Sherri Smith and husband Tim of Wayne; Sister, Imogene Olds and husband Loman of Glena, KS; Brother JD Smith and wife Joyce of Norman. 11 grandchildren; Several Nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow
at the Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in
