Linda Barnett Tate, age 70 of Purcell, passed away at her home Sunday, December 14, 2014, after a long battle with COPD. Linda Florence Jones was born November 5, 1944 in Purcell, OK, 1 of 5 children and the only daughter of Luther and Florence (Finley) Jones. She was raised on a dairy farm in Washington and attended Washington schools until her junior year. Linda graduated from Wayne high school in 1963. Linda was a proud mother of her son, Keith and daughter, Tonya. Linda lived most of her life in the Wayne/Purcell area. She worked hard, and sometimes two jobs, to make sure that they had everything they might need. She waitressed at Bill’s Drive-In, Ruby’s and the Pink Poodle. She also worked as a clerk at Tom’s Quick Stop. She was the best mother. Linda later met Nolan Tate, and on Thanksgiving Day, 1998, they were married in Reno, NV. They made their home in Purcell, and Linda worked side by side with Nolan at his pest control business. Linda thoroughly enjoyed her gambling, and never missed an opportunity to go to the casino. Linda had a wonderful sense of humor, she cherished life and she loved her family and friends. Linda also loved her two little dogs, Molly and Missy. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Luther and Florence Jones and Her brother, Roger Elliott.
Linda leaves behind: Her husband, Nolan Tate of the home; Her children, Son, Keith Barnett of Wayne and Daughter, Tonya Shofner of Purcell; 2 grandchildren, Leah (Shofner) Norman and husband Dylan and Cameron Shofner; Her pride and joy, great granddaughter, Bria Norman; 3 brothers, Danny Jones of Lexington, Lou Jones of Washington and Tommy Elliott of Washington; Several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 18, 2014, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.

Nolan Hoyt Tate, age 81 of Purcell, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Noman Regional Healthplex. Nolan was born June 10, 1939 in Wayne, OK, 1 of 3 children born to Noel Andrew Tate and Mildred Lee (Taylor) Tate. He was raised in Wayne and graduated with the Bulldog Class of 1958. Nolan joined the United States Army and served his country proudly. He married young to Betty Short, and to this union, 4 children were born, daughter, Deanna and sons, Keith, Eldon and Kevin. Nolan sold insurance for a while, and later drove a gravel truck, before joining his father in the family business. Nolan owned and operated Tate’s Exterminators for many years, serving Purcell and the surrounding communities. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed traveling, and was fortunate to see much of the world. Nolan was friendly, and no matter where he was at, he was the life of the party. He had many lifelong friends, and looked forward to sharing a drink with his buddies, and as the story goes, he might have had his own glass in his favorite spot. He was a proud member of the Shriners, and served as Past Master in the Hampton Noble Masonic Lodge, # 291. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: wife, Linda Tate; daughter, Deanna Jones; son, Keith Tate; grandson Justin Tate; parents Noel and Mildred Tate and brother Darrell Tate.
Nolan is survived by: his daughter Tonya Shofner Duke and husband Tracy of Purcell; sons, Eldon Tate and wife Kristi of Purcell, Kevin Tate of OKC and Keith Barnett and wife Fonda of Wayne; Sister Twana Scalf and husband Michael of Blanchard; 9 grandchildren, Jade Tate Stow, Jalyn Tate, Shawn Blackmon, Shelby Blackmon, Karrie Tate, Karissa Jones, Kelsey Hyatt, Leah Norman and Cameron Shofner; 9 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Little’s Chapel, Wilson-Little Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed on our website, www.wilsonlittle.com and our Facebook page, Wilson Little.
