Linda Carol Swafford age 68 of Purcell passed away Friday, November 01, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born February 11, 1945 in Purcell, OK. Linda was the 2nd child of four children born to Burl Wayne Carr and Erma Mae (O’Harro) Carr. She grew up in Purcell and graduated from Purcell High School with the class of 1963. Later that same year she married the love of her life, a young man from Purcell by the name of Bill Swafford. They were married on November 16, 1963 in Purcell and together raised two children, DeAnne and Mike. In her early years Linda worked many years at Sherri Classic dress factory in Purcell. She later went to work for the City of Purcell and worked a number of years as the City Clerk and Payroll Clerk. Because of a health problem she retired early in 1999. Linda was a fabulous seamstress who enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her children and her family. She loved working with her hands, being in the outdoors, gardening, doing yard work and working with arts and crafts. Most of all Linda enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by: Parents: Burl and Erma Carr Brother: Melvin Carr

She is survived by: Husband: Bill Swafford of the home in Purcell, Children: DeAnne McGinley and husband David of Wichita, KS, Mike Swafford and wife Christy of Peterburg, TN, Sister: Shirley Ellis and husband O.B. of Purcell, Brother: Earl Carr of Purcell Five grandchildren: Kyle and Logan McGinley, Madison and Brigette Swafford and Chelsea Kimbrell Many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, November 4, 2013 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
