Funeral services for Patsy N. Southard, 84, of Goldsby, OK will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2011 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Purcell, Oklahoma.
Patsy went to be with our Lord on Christmas morning, December 25, 2011.
She was born southwest of Norman in McClain County on March 13, 1927.
She was the fourth child of seven children born to Thomas Simon Pledger
and Viola Mae (Fisk) Pledger. Patsy was married to Rosco C. Southard on
December 14, 1946. Together they had three daughters. They farmed and
ranched in McClain county for all 55 of the years they were married.
Patsy was a loving, hard working wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister and friend. She worked hard on the farm as
well as being a devoted homemaker, gardener, and seamstress. She loved
her Lord and was a long time member of Goldsby Baptist Church where she
taught Sunday School for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rosco Southard; her parents;
one brother, Henry Pledger; three sisters, Ruby Berry, Mary Trapp and
Wanda Hargrove.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands,
Charlene and Richard Perry of Norman, Patty and Delbert Place of Goldsby,
Mary and Gary Girod of Norman; ten grandchildren; ten
great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Tommie Joy Murray and husband
Haskell of Mustang and Bobbie Price and husband Carl of Nicoma Park, OK.
Arrangements for Patsy and her family were placed in the care of the
Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
