Ona Shultz, age 77 of Purcell, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Purcell Municipal Hospital.
Ona Lee Jones was born April 22, 1943 in Charleston, WV, 1 of 13 children born to Ralph Samuel Jones and Dorothy Alice (Leach) Jones. Growing up a farm girl, Ona learned at a very young age, the value of hard work. She married young to Jim Shultz, and together they raised 4 children, sons, Greg, Roger and Donnie and daughter, Charlotte. They first made their home in Grafton, OH, before moving to Okla. City. For more than 20 years, Ona worked in house cleaning for Hillcrest Hospital, cleaning and preparing the surgical units. When she wasn’t working, Ona was probably at an auction and she never missed an opportunity to hit up a good garage sale. She cherished her family and especially her children and grandchildren. She later moved to Texas for a few short years, before settling in Purcell to be closer to her family. She was light hearted, fun loving and enjoyed the best in every day. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: her parents Ralph and Dorothy Jones and her siblings, Bill, Audrey, Jack, Emily, Joe, Delores, Junior, Judy and John.
Ona is survived by: her boys, Greg Shultz of Purcell, Roger Shultz and wife Nikki of Pauls Valley and Donnie Shultz and wife Mimi of Texarkana; Her daughter, Charlotte Oliver and husband Wes of Moore, OK; 3 brothers, Mark Jones and wife Frieda of LaGrange, OH, Curley Jones and wife Ella of Sandusky, OH and Roger Jones of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Roger, Morgan and husband Sam, Ashley, Zack, Joshua, Chase, Samantha, Aron and Phoenix; great grandchildren, Ivy and Paxton and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 29, 2021, at Little’s Chapel. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on our website, www.wilsonlittle.com and our Facebook page, Wilson Little, for those wishing to attend virtually.
