Barbara Ann Schmidt age 75 of Wynnewood, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Norman Regional Health Plex. She was born on August 16, 1939 in Chickasha, OK. Barbara was the 2nd of nine children. Her parents were Walter Golden Cooper and Ruby Lee Post. Barbara grew up and attended school in the Lindsay and Elmore City area. She later met and married Wiley Jordan and together they had four children. Barbara lived most of her life in towns throughout Garvin County, including, Lindsay, Maysville, Paoli and Wynnewood. She worked most of her life as a wife, mother and homemaker. She also worked outside the home for many years, working at various jobs. When she was younger, Barbara lived several years in Aberdeen, South Dakota. While living there she attended Presentation College where she pursued a degree in Criminal Justice. Barbara loved her family and they loved her in return. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook and one who loved to collect cookbooks and recipes. She loved to watch TV and her favorite shows were always police shows. She will be greatly missed by her children, her grandchildren, her brother and sisters and her cat sissy.
She was preceded in death by: Father, Walter Cooper; Mother, Ruby Cooper Fogel; Her lifelong friend, Charlie Keith; A sister, Sandra Beasley; A brother, John Wayne Cooper; Two nieces, Chasity Legrand and Braylee Henry; A great grandson, Grizzly Akerman;
She is survived by: Five children, Mike Rush and wife Glena of Fairview, Dawn Jordan of Norman, Joe Jordan and wife Kim of Blanchard, Tammara Powers of Cheotah, Robin Lynn Jordan of Longmont, CO; Five sisters and one brother; Donna Johnson, Carolyn Thompson, Deborah Miller, Pamela Ketzkenety, Brenda Legrand and Billy Ray Henry; Eight grandchildren; Christopher Powers, Jordan Akerman, Brook Olson, Kristin Olson, Alexandra Jordan, Holly Calwonsen, Michael Rush, Richard Chenault and Jessica Calwonsen. 22 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
