Palecia Renae Roundtree, age 52 of Purcell passed away Wednesday June 12, 2013. Palecia was born,November 15, 1960 in Oklahoma City to Pearlie Weathers and William Roundtree. Upon leaving Oklahoma City, Pearlie and infant daughter returned to Okmulgee, OK and called it home. Palecia attended the Okmulgee Public School System, graduating with the Class of l979. Palecia as a teen and young adult was a very outgoing person. She loved having fun and socializing. She enjoyed entertaining, playing cards, hanging out, dancing, listening to music and as she got older cooking became her favorite thing to do. In the mid-eighties Palecia moved to Oklahoma City, where she attended Electronic School and received her certification in small electronics. She was employed at Order-Matic Electronics Corporation for several years until an injury rendered her disabled. Palecia decided she needed a change and in the early nineties she moved to Purcell, Ok. Palecia was active in her new church, the First Baptist Santa Fe Church, where she served on the Usher board and volunteered with making meals. Palecia’s life changed dramatically in 2001 when she was blessed with a baby girl, “Precious Darae Roundtree”. Palecia’s focus was being the best mother she could be. Precious became her world and she devoted herself to making sure she was afforded every opportunity.
Palecia leaves behind:
Daughter, Precious of the home; Mother , Pearlie Weathers, her Sister Sonya Smith, both of Oklahoma City, OK. Two brothers, Maurice Coulter, Purcell, Ok. and Se’Carl Hopkins, Oklahoma City, Ok. Two nephews, Tyrone (Tiffany ) Harris and Waylan Melton. Four nieces, Marquecia (Kent) Rice, Scherryl Coulter, Misty Hopkins and LaQuita Adams. One great niece, Shylan Melton, 3 great nephews, Kent Jr. & Kovan Rice and Tyler Harris. One Aunt, Doris Colston, a son she never had, but cherished as her own, Demetri Berry; a special friend of the family Jeddie Cox and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 22, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
