Douglas Ray Rolin was born January 11, 1944 in Purcell, the 4th of 9 children born to Clarence Douglas Rolin and Ila Mae (Cypert) Rolin. He spent his early years all in Purcell, and spent a short time in Wasco, CA, before moving back home to Purcell. Doug graduated with the Dragons Class of 1963. His life would change forever when by chance, he met Ms. LaVerne Richardson at the Dairy King. They fell in love and were married November 21, 1966. They made their home in Purcell where together they raised two children, daughter, Gina and son, Marty. Doug worked for ODOT as a Bridge and Road Inspector. In addition, he worked a part-time job for more than 25 years at the filling station at the south end of town. Doug loved camping trips with his wife and grandkids, fishing and deer hunting with his muzzleloader. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, watched Gunsmoke religiously and listened to Hank Williams Sr. songs. He cherished LaVerne, was the best dad and was never happier than the day he became a Poppa.
