Jimmy Joe Powers age 54 of OKC, formerly of Purcell, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Midwest Regional Hospital.
He was born on February 9, 1964 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma the youngest of seven children. His parents were Claude Chester Powers and Beverly June (Pscholka) Powers. Jimmy Joe grew up in Purcell and attended Purcell schools. He later became a truck driver and for many years he drove a transport truck, hauling cars for Powers Auto Group.
Jimmy Joe loved being in the outdoors and working with his hands. He enjoyed fishing, raising farm animals, riding motorcycles and tinkering on automobiles. He loved his family and cherished spending time with his siblings. He especially enjoyed his younger years growing up with them.
He was preceded in death by:
Parents, Claude and Beverly Powers;
Brother, Mike Martin;
He is survived by:
Wife, Virginia of
the home in OKC,
Four brothers, Dennis Martin of Lexington, Keith Martin and
wife Robin of OKC, Rodney Powers
and wife Regina of Purcell, Randy Powers of
Lexington;
One sister, Carlene Wenzel and husband Scott of Gold
Hill, OR.
One sister-in-law, Doris Martin of Myrtle Creek, OR.
One uncle, Dwight Powers and wife Donna Faye of Edmond,
One aunt, Kathy Andrews of Purcell,
Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
