Joyce Marlene Perry
age 83 of Purcell, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Purcell Care Center. She was born April 8, 1931 in Oklahoma City. Joyce was the 3rd child of four children born to Elbert Wesley Edwards and Etna Louisa (Groves) Edwards. Joyce grew up in the OKC area later moved to Purcell where she spent her high schools years graduating with the class of 1949. On December 26, 1950, she married Ross Conrad Perry, a young man from Purcell. Together they raised two sons, David and Steven while making their home in Purcell.

Joyce worked for nearly 35 years for Golden Trend Oil Co. and Smith Hester in Purcell. For year she was an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and helped as a rotary cook. She enjoyed being involved in her community; she had been on the Purcell Cemetery Board and a member of the Okeha Garden Club. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, she was an avid reader and she enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

Joyce was preceded in death by: Parents: Elbert and Etna Edwards, Husband: Ross Perry in 1994,

She is survived by: Two sons: David Perry and wife Marta of Purcell Steven Perry of Purcell, Two brothers: Wayne Edwards of OKC, Jack Edwards and wife Peggy of Silsbee, TX, One sister: Fern Lewis of Elk City, OK, Three grandchildren: Charles Perry and wife Misty, Scott Perry and wife Terin, Chris Perry; 4 Great grandchildren,and also several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. Send online condolences at wilsonlittle.com
