John Lewis Nelson age 72 of Norman, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 at Cornerstone Hospital in Shawnee.
John was born July 8, 1947, in Spearman, Texas. He was the 2nd child of four born to John Lawson Nelson and Ethel Mae “Teel” Nelson. John grew up in Western Oklahoma, living in various towns while his father followed work as a farmer. As a sophomore he moved to Purcell were he later graduated with the class of 1967.

Two sisters, Linda and Brenda Nelson.
He is survived by:
One sister, Carol Nelson of Norman,
One aunt, Dorothy Layton of Wynnewood,
Two uncles, Perry Teel of Noble,
Floyd Teel of OKC.
Several cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, November 18, 2019 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
A public visitation at the funeral home will be held Sunday, Nov. 17 from 1-8 pm.
