Pauline Craig Miller, age 96 of Wayne, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Lexington Nursing Home. Pauline was born September 6, 1916 in Purcell, the youngest of 3 children born to Woody Lee Craig and Alta Lee (Houser) Craig. She grew up in Wayne and attended Wayne Schools, graduating in 1934, and later attended the University of Oklahoma. Pauline married Brooke L. Wallace on June 26, 1941, and to this union, a daughter, Bettye and a son, Billy were born. Pauline taught at Wayne Schools for about 3 years and Brooke was the Wayne Postmaster. Brooke passed away in November of 1950, and Pauline was appointed Wayne Post Master. Pauline retired after more than 26 years as Post Master. She later married Grover Teague in 1957, only to lose him in 1964. Pauline then married Harold S. Miller in 1974. They made their home in Wayne, but they loved to spend the winter months at Padre Island, where they enjoyed the mild weather and fishing. They also enjoyed spending their summer months at Lake Texoma. Pauline looked forward to domino games at the Wayne Senior Center and was a faithful member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed collecting red hats and t-shirts. Pauline loved her Wayne Community and she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her church, and was a long time member of the Wayne Church of Christ. She will be greatly missed! Pauline was preceded in death by: Her parents: Woody and Alta Craig; Her husbands, Brooke Wallace, Grover Teague and Harold Miller; 2 brothers, Nathan and Houser Craig; Step son, Don Miller; Her granddaughter, Christy Tompkin; Grandson, Brady Wallace. Pauline leaves behind: Her daughter, Bettye Tompkins and husband Charlie of Wayne; Her son, Billy Brooke Wallace of OKC; Step Children, JoAnn Dudgeon of Lexington, Richard Miller of TX, Carol Miller of Yukon, Rickey Dudgeon of TX, LeaAnn Perry of Lexington; 4 grandchildren, Dan Wallace and wife Stephanie of Lindsay, Rodney Tompkins and wife Maegan of Newcastle, Ryan Tompkins and wife DaNeil of Arlington, TX and Brandy Osmus of Bentonville, AR; 13 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; numerous step-great grandchildren Also many other relatives and friends Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
