McPherson, Sylvia Jean Tefertiller, 84, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at Purcell, Oklahoma.  She was born April 6, 1926 in Noble, OK to Howard and Pearl Brown Tefertiller.  She attended schools in McClain County and lived all of her life in McClain and Cleveland counties.

Her life's work was providing a wonderful home for her husband and children.  She lovingly encouraged her children to succeed in school and their activities and was proud to see them all achieve their goals.  Sylvia was also supportive of Gene's business and community endeavors and enjoyed traveling with him to Bermuda, Bahamas, Hawaii, Acapulco and on family trips to the West Coast.

She had a soft heart for abandoned animals and her backyard was usually full of small dogs.  She loved cats also, but none of them would stay around long.

Sylvia was preceded in death by an infant daughter, her parents, three brothers, five sisters and one son-in-law.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gene of Norman; six children, daughter, Carolyn and Lee Wade, Oklahoma City, daughter, Nancy and Paul Nall, Greenville, TX, son, Tom and Lynda McPherson, Norman, daughter, Pam Stanlick, Purcell, daughter, Cheryl and Ron Pitts, Bartlesville and daughter, Anita and Paul Marshall, St. Petersburg, Florida; 21 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
