Jimmy Ray McNutt, age 76 of Purcell, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
Jimmy Ray McNutt was born December 16, 1941 in Roff, Oklahoma, the baby of 3 children born to Earl Edgar McNutt and Ruby Irene (Buckelew) McNutt. He spent his early childhood in Shawnee where he began school. He eventually moved to Okla. City, graduating from Northeast High School. It was here he met his sweetheart and life partner, Jan Carol Goddard. They were married on September 4, 1961 in Okla. City. Jimmy Ray joined the United States Marine Corp, and was in boot camp just three days after graduating. Although quiet about it, he was a proud Marine and served his country proudly. Jimmy and Jan first made their home in Okla. City. At this time, Jimmy worked for both the Oklahoma City Police and Fire Department. In 1977, they settled in Purcell, and have called it home ever since. Together they raised 3 children, daughter, Deanna and sons, Jimmy Ray Jr. and Harold. Jimmy spent a time building homes with his cousin, before starting his own roofing company. He was a hard worker and a great provider and he greatly enjoyed his work. When not working, he enjoyed spending time at his lake house at Texoma. He especially liked to fish, and believed any day fishing was a great day! He was a wonderful husband and father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Earl and Ruby McNutt and His brother, Harold L. McNutt.
Jimmy is survived by: His sweetheart, wife Jan McNutt of the home; Daughter, Deanna Rae Lemley and husband Solomon of Norman; Sons, Jimmy Ray McNutt and wife Dawn of Norman and Harold Ray McNutt and wife Terri of Moore; Sister, Wyvonia Young of Norman; 4 grandchildren, Jason McNutt of Norman, Robert McNutt of Norman, Angela McNutt of Edmond and Christina McNutt of Hot Springs, AR; 9 Step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and A host of other family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday,
December 29, 2017, at the Hillside Cemetery.
