Roy Dale Lee age 75 of Wayne, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Norman Regional Hospital.
Roy was born
December 14, 1940 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was the 8th child of nine
children born to Robert Boyd Lee and Mary L. (Bacon) Lee. Roy grew up a farm
boy living in the Dibble community. As a young boy he learned how to work
hard by cutting broomcorn and working in the cotton fields. He attended the
Dibble schools where he graduated with the class of 1959. That same year, on
December 31, 1959 in Phoenix, AZ he married the love of his life, Mary J.
Bond. They remained living there for the next 18 years and together raised
two sons, Randy and Darrell. Roy worked as a professional welder for 18
years while living in Phoenix, working for the Sheet Metal Union. In 1978
they moved to Eastern Oklahoma and he worked as a fabricator in a Pressure
Cleaning Business. He retired in 2000 and in 2002 he and Mary moved to
Lexington, to be close to their granddaughters. He only recently moved to
Wayne, OK to live next to his granddaughter, Shayla Bishop and her family.
Throughout his life, Roy enjoyed camping and working with wood crafts,
especially making bird houses. He also enjoyed racing remote controlled cars
with his sons. He enjoyed racing in competitions on indoor and outdoor race
tracks. Most of all, Roy enjoyed being around his family, spending time at
family get-togethers with brothers and sisters and his children and
grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by: Parents, Boyd and Mary Lee; Two brothers, Joe
and William Lee; Three sisters, Ana Mae Duncan, Bonnie Lee and Wynona Weeks;
He is survived by: Wife, Mary J. Lee of the home in Wayne, Two sons, Randy
Lee and wife Jody of Noble, Darrell Lee and wife Glenda of Norman, One
brother, Bruce Lee and wife Eunice of Alex, Two sisters, Hazel Wright and
husband Jim of The Colony, TX, Shay Williams of Noble, One sister-in-law,
Martha Lee of Newcastle; Two granddaughters, Shayla Bishop and husband
Justin of Wayne, Kristen Lee of Norman; One great granddaughter, Mary Grace
Bishop; Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, April 15, 2016 at Wilson-Little
Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in
