Dottie Lee Lashley age 68 of Norman, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 in Norman. She was born February 22, 1945 in Utopia, Texas. Dottie was the youngest of four daughters born to James Lee Routh and Dorothy Merle (Plowman) Routh. She grew up in Marlow, Oklahoma where she also attended school. On September 23, 1961 she married Hence Jefferson “Jeff” Lashley and together they raised one daughter, Wanda. Dottie worked as a homemaker, wife and mother during the years her daughter was growing up. In 1974 she and Jeff moved to Purcell, then in 1990 she moved to Norman. Dottie began working at Hitachi Corp. in Norman in 1988 and remained working there until she retired in 2004. Dottie loved working with her hands and enjoyed working on remodeling projects for herself, her daughter and for her granddaughters. She also enjoyed sewing; she was an avid reader and especially loved babysitting her granddaughters and her great grandchildren. She was a wonderful grandmother and she cherished the time she could spend with family.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents: James and Dorothy Routh, Husband: Jeff Lashley, Two sisters: Lois McQuhae and Shirley Langley,
She is survived by: Her daughter: Wanda Christian of Norman, Two granddaughters: Brandi Christian and husband Casey Blagg of Edmond, Mandi Mayer and husband Paul of Purcell, Four great grandchildren: Layton and Langley Blagg, Laramy and Avery Mayer, Sister: Imogene Brewer, Friend: Jim Belden, Her embraced family: Michelle Sheehy, Crystal Sheehy and Ella Sheehy, Also several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the “Susan G. Komen For The Cure”. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
