Betty Jane Kerr age 81, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her home in Wayne. She was born November 14, 1932 near Wayne, OK. She was the 3rd child and only daughter of four children born to Ezra Carl Woods and Ida Viola (Harper) Woods. Betty grew up a farm girl attending Staley and Wayne Schools graduating in 1949 at the age of 16. She attended one year of Business College before starting to work as a secretary in the insurance business. She retired after working 49 years, for various insurance companies in Purcell and in the Oklahoma City area. Betty married R.E. “Roy” Kerr on June 12, 1953 in Wayne, OK. Together they raised three children, Carla, Teresa and James. They lived in Midwest City for 13 years, Oklahoma City for three years and then moved to the farm in Wayne in 1969. Betty loved being in the outdoors, gardening, cooking and canning. She was very active in her kid’s and grandkid’s school activities. She was a faithful Christian and member of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A dear sister and a special aunt to her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: Parents; Carl and Viola Woods, Husband: Roy Kerr in 2005, Brother: Jim Woods,

She is survived by: Three children: Carla Saunders of Wayne, Teresa Brakefield and husband Pat of Wayne, James Kerr of Hinton, Two brothers: Pete Woods and wife Nancy of Wayne, Bob Woods of Wayne, Two sisters-in-law: Juanita Woods of Tecumseh, Joyce Kerr of Ardmore, Four grandchildren: Lisa Huffman of Wayne, Bobby Saunders and wife Brandi of Purcell, Ben Brakefield and wife Krissi of Wayne, Kayla Madden and husband Nicholas of Wayne, Three great grandchildren: Raedyn, Brayley and Bentley, And one great grandchild on the way. Also many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, December 2, 2013 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
