Fera Jones, age 87 of Purcell, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020. Fera Ellen Eddy was born October 28, 1933 in Bear Creek, AR, the baby of nine children born to Joe and Pearl (Carlley) Eddy. At an early age, the Eddy family moved to Texas and settled near Dallas. Fera married young, to James Ross Jones Sr., and together they raised five children, Sarah, James, Alvin, Lisa and Robin. They first made their home in Dallas, before moving to Oklahoma and settling in Purcell. Fera worked tirelessly as a wife and mother, caring and providing for her family. She was an excellent homemaker, and her family was her hobby. She cherished her children and was never happier than the day she became a grandmother. She was genuine, kind hearted and selfless and she loved many. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: her husband, James Ross Jones Sr.; Her parents, Joe and Pearl Eddy and siblings, James Eddy, Buck Eddy, Roff Eddy, Mary Hernandez, Goldie Green, Olphia Starrett, Pansy Cohee and Alphie McInturf.
Fera is survived by: Sarah Baumann and husband Steven of Purcell, James R. Jones Jr. and wife Jackie of Thompson’s Station, TN; Alvin Jones and wife Tami of Purcell, Lisa Jones of Purcell and Robin Jones and wife Deanna of Lexington, OK; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and 1 more on the way; and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 7, 2020, at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Send online condolences @ www.wilsonlittle.com.
