Joelle Jackson, age 65 of Purcell, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013. Vickie Joelle Harris was born January 16, 1948 in the San Diego, CA, the only child of Little Joe Harris and Alice Loweta (Pearcy) Harris. She was raised in Hot Springs, AR and attended school there, graduating in 1966. She then attended Arkansas Tech University where she obtained her Bachelors in Education. While in college, Joelle met Richard Mitchell and they were married in July of 1968. To this union, 2 daughters, Kristin and Kassi were born. They made their home in Danville, AR where Joelle began her teaching career. She later married Gary Jackson and they settled in Purcell. She taught for Purcell Schools before retiring. Joelle cherished her family and especially her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “MiMi”. She was a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother and a good friend. Joelle loved her dog “Lexi”, spending time at the beach and never missed an opportunity to go shopping. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Purcell.
She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Gary Jackson and Her parents, Little Joe and Alice Harris.
Joelle leaves behind: Her daughters, Kristin Eck of Lavaca, AR and Kassi Buchanan and husband Ryan of Purcell; Step sons, Tobin Jackson and Lanette of OKC, OK and Kane Jackson and Melissa of Owasso, OK; 9 grandchildren, Garrett, Hannah, Jace, Haven, Halle, Reid, Blaine, Kale, Barrett and Kennedy.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Chapel. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson-Little of Purcell.
