Longtime Goldsby resident, Jerry L. “Cowboy” Isbill, age 78 of Paoli, passed away Thursday, February 08, 2018, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Okla. City, OK.

Jerry Lee Isbill was born August 22, 1939 in Pauls Valley, OK, the 2nd of 4 children born to Fred D. and Ruby Alice (Perry) Isbill. He was raised in the Wayne area and attended Wayne Schools, graduating in 1958. Jerry joined the United States Army, and served his country proudly. Jerry married his best friend and life partner, Mary Hagen, on August 1, 1964 in Enid. They made their home in Goldsby, where together they raised 3 children, son George and daughters, Debra and Rhonda. Jerry, known affectionately as “Cowboy”, worked as a computer test programmer at Lucent for more than 42 years. His heart, however, was on the ranch. Cowboy spent his best days raising cattle, riding horses and roping, well into his seventies. He loved the great outdoors, and marveled daily at God’s creation. Cowboy was positive and upbeat, and would always greet you with smile. He was a man of great faith; a longtime and faithful member of the Washington Baptist Church and more recently at Paoli Baptist Church. He was a wonderful father, and a great “Papa” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: His wife, Mary Isbill in October of 2016; His parents, Fred and Ruby Isbill and Two brothers, Mack and Sid;

Jerry is survived by: His daughters, Debra Snell and husband Curtis of Kingwood, TX and Rhonda Thrash and husband Casey of Paoli; Son, George Isbill of Lexington; Sister, Mary Ann Isbill of Wayne; 7 grandchildren,Nicole Blevins of Purcell, Brooke Wilmore of Decatur, AL,Dustin Snell of Tahlequah, Rowdy Isbill and wife Elizabeth of Norman, Coy Thrash and wife Susie of Purcell, Asa Snell and Micah Snell, both of Kingwood, TX; 5 great grandchildren; Logan, Owen, Sadie, Gunner and Weston, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
