(permission granted)

Funeral Services were held for Dixie Idleman at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 8, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed at the Hillside Cemetery under direction of Wilson Little Funeral Home.

Dixie Belle Burnett was born September 15, 1920 in Paoli, OK. and passed away Monday, February 5, 2013 in Purcell at the age of 92. She was the 4th of 5 children born to John Logan Burnett and Maggie (Stephens) Burnett. She grew up in Paoli and attended Paoli Schools, graduating in 1938.
She met the love of her life; a young serviceman from Wayne named Ruddie Idleman. They fell in love and were married on January 30, 1942 in Wayne. They lived in Port Arthur, TX for many years where Ruddie was a machinist for Coastal Marine and Dixie worked as a secretary and later as a title clerk. They retired and returned to Purcell in the early 1990’s.
Dixie never had any children of her own, but she was a mother to many. She was loving and caring, witty and a little onry at times, but always an absolute delight to be around. Dixie was a faithful member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Purcell. She was particularly proud to serve in the United Methodist Woman and the “Rotary Cooks” and will be missed by many.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Ruddie Idleman; parents, John and Maggie Burnett; sister, Mary Lou Drennin and brother, Paul Burnett.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Mae Chandler of Long Beach, CA and Minnie Nixon of North Carolina; Several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
