Bethel Marie Hughes died April 10, 2021 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 82 years 9 months 5 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Bethel was born July 5, 1938 in Criner, Oklahoma to Robert and Ruby (Wilkey) Faulkenberry. She was raised and attended school in the Criner/Washington area. Bethel married Kenneth Hughes on August 8, 1953 in Purcell, Oklahoma. She worked for many years as a dietary manager. Bethel enjoyed sewing, and completing crossword and word search puzzles. She loved to cook, and spend time with her family. Bethel also loved to read the Bible and going to church. Bethel was a member of the Portland Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
Bethel is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Faulkenberry; her husband, Kenneth Hughes; her daughter, Kathy Diane Hughes; her siblings, Vernon Faulkenberry, Marilyn Cotner, Doris King, and Carolyn Faulkenberry.
Survivors include her son, Delbert Hughes; her daughters, Charlotte Moses and husband, Mike, Elaine Wilson and husband, Wade, Joanna Evans; her grandchildren, James Moses, David Moses, Michael Moses, Crystal Thompson and husband, Wayne, Shannon Hughes, Matthew Bennett and wife, Jessica, Nathanial Wilson and wife, Stormy, Elisabeth Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, Brittanie Hughes, Leslie Murray, Tucker Evans, Jessie Evans; great grandchildren, Olivia, Cassady, Jacob, Kalista, Chandler, Jolene, Bintlie, Asher, Ella, Vanessa, Natasha, Mariah; great-great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Marcie; siblings, R.C. Faulkenberry, Billy Faulkenberry, Harold Faulkenberry, Francis Teel, Gary Faulkenberry; and numerous other relatives and friends.
