Joey Hudson, age 42 of Purcell, passed away Saturday, November 09, 2019.
Jimmy Joey Hudson was born July 14, 1977 in Purcell, OK. His parents were Jimmy Wayne Hudson and Karen Sue Bebout. Joey was raised in Purcell and attended Purcell Schools, graduating with the Class of 1995. Joey played football and was a standout baseball player for the Dragons. His ability to hit the ball earned him a scholarship at St. Gregory’s University. Joey worked a variety of jobs throughout the years. He was a roofer, spent some time testing soil, and even worked as a bar tender. Most recently, he worked as a nurses aid in home health. Joey loved people and his compassion for others worked well with his abilities as a nurse. Joey was an avid sports fan, and particularly the Kansas City Chiefs, and he never missed an OU Football game. Joey loved music and loved sharing his talents on his drum set. Joey was proud of his daughter, Shelby and son, Braden. Life at times wasn’t easy for Joey. He battled diabetes and other health issues, and he always managed to find his way.
