Nancy Mae Hatcher died peacefully on December 26, 2022, in Newcastle, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years 1 months 3 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Nancy was born November 23, 1942, in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Carl and Margaret (Lacer) Cummins. She was raised and graduated from school in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Doyle Hatcher on April 24, 1959, and were married for 59 ½ years before Doyle passed in 2018. Together they had 4 children, Matthew, Monty, Michael and Shawna. Nancy worked for the FAA as an accountant for 25 years, retiring in 2005. She was baptized at Hillcrest Church of Christ in 1964 and was active in her church life. Nancy was a member of the Wayne Church of Christ for many years, a devote Christian, giving of her time and money to many Christian organizations. Nancy enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, and spending time with her family, spoiling her 13+ grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nancy is preceded in death by her father, Carl Cummins; her mother, Margaret Nixon; her husband, Doyle Hatcher; her son, Matthew Brent Hatcher; her sisters, Norma Jean Ward, Carol O’Donley, and Marlene Vaughan; her daughters-in-law, Lisa Hatcher and Paula Hatcher.
Survivors include her son, Monty Hatcher; her son, Michael Hatcher and wife, Jennifer; her stepdaughter, Shawna Dial and husband, Joe; her grandchildren, Conner, Natalie and husband, Austin, Amanda, LeAnna, Matthew, Jordan, Colten, Nathan and husband, Nick, Kourtney, Timmy and wife, Kristen, Tommy and wife, Sara, Tyler; her great grandchildren, Rylan, Reese, River, Ellie, Ariana, Brooklyn, Ben, Owen, AJ, Leighton, Graham, Kalie, Nick; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fire Fighters Association or the Tipton Boys Home.
