Marion Harris, age 73 of Purcell, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the Lexington Nursing Home.

Marion Eugenia Mickley was born August 5, 1941 in Amarillo, TX, the younger of 2 children born to Elmer and Eugenia (Grewell) Mickley. She grew up in Carnegie, OK, finishing school in Oklahoma City, graduating from U.S. Grant High School in 1959.

Marion married William “Bill” Harris on October 25, 1958 in Carnegie, OK. Together they raised a daughter, Sandy. They made their home for several years in Oklahoma City.

During this time, Marion worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture. She retired in 1988 as a lab technician after more than 15 years of dedicated service. In 1989, Bill and Marion purchased a small farm near Maysville. Marion enjoyed working in her yard and keeping her house. She was a faithful member of the Abundant Love Fellowship in Maysville.

In 2007, they moved to Purcell and have called it home ever since. Marion was a loving wife and mother, sister, aunt and a good friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her daughter, Sandy Harris-Stefan and Her parents, Elmer and Eugenia Mickley.

Marion leaves behind: Her husband, Bill Harris of the home; Her brother, Dennis Mickley and wife Karen of Washington State and Many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the Abundant Love Fellowship Church in Maysville. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.

William Duane Harris, age 87, of Purcell passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.

He was always known by family as “Broz” because when his sisters were little, they couldn’t say brother. William was born in Colony, Oklahoma to James Delmer and Nora Jane (Shelton) Harris.

He married the love of his life Marion Mickley on October 25, 1958. The two shared 56 years of marriage before the passing of Marion.

William was an aircraft mechanic for the United States Air Force at Tinker Air Force Base for a number of years and served his country overseas, as well. He took pride in his service and commitment to his country. William was a true Patriot. He received numerous awards and accolades during his time in the Air Force.

When William wasn’t working on airplanes, he could be found at the farm with his Beefmaster cattle and his dogs. He absolutely cherished time spent with family and loved ones. He was an amazing husband, father, brother and uncle and will be missed dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Delmer and Nora Jane Harris; his wife, Marion Harris; his daughter, Sandy Harris Stefan; his sisters, Mildred Gamel, Freda McLemore, Wanda Kellum and Jean Redbird; and his brother, Jack Shelton.

William is survived by his sisters, Nora Hutto of Moore and Linda Nelson and husband Bob of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law, Burl Gamel and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Wilson Little Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
