Lowell William George age 73 of Purcell, went home to be with his Lord, Friday, December 13, 2013 at Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Purcell. He was born July 22, 1940 in Parma, Arkansas. Lowell was the 6th child of eight children. He parents were William Thomas George and Jessie Faye (McCarty) George. Lowell grew up in the Washington community and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1959. One week after graduating he married his high school sweetheart, Martha Jane Bebout. They were married on May 30, 1959 in Purcell and together raised three children, Lisa, Greg and Kevin. Lowell grew up learning how to work hard as a young man and continued that same work ethic throughout his life. From 1961-1977 his family lived in Chickasha where he worked for the B. F. Goodrich Co. He then moved back to Purcell where he and his brother-in-law, Dale Bebout bought the Chickasha Hills Gas Station. They later changed the name to B & G Texaco. After being partners for several years, he went out on his own and for the next 10 years he owned and operated several other Gas Stations in Purcell including the Mobil Station. After he retired Lowell enjoyed working part-time at Bacons 66 and Criswell Texaco until his health began to fail. Lowell was a faithful Christian and member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Purcell for over 40 years. He also was proud to serve as a Church Deacon for many of those years. He had a few hobbies, like raising cattle, gardening and raising water melons. Most of all he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports in Purcell, Norman and Watonga. He especially enjoyed following Zac with his professional MMA career and burned many a highway mile in his old blue Chevy just to see him fight. He was their number one fan!
