Mrs. Cecilia M. Garrett, 78, died early Monday morning, May 15, 1978 in the St. Joseph Medical Center, Ponca city, following a brief illness.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1899 at Purcell Oklahoma and was a daughter of Stephen and Josephine Boudreau. She attended the Purcell schools and was employed as a secretary here.
She married Carl C. Garrett on Jan. 8, 1920. He was employed by the Santa Fe railroad. They established their home in Purcell, Cushing and in 1945 to Ponca City. At his retirement in 1965 he was the chief clerk to the Santa Fe agent in Ponca City. He preceeded her in death in 1972.
Rosary service was held Wednesday evening, May 17, 1978 at the Chapel of the Chimes, Grace Memorial Funeral Home, Ponca City. Mass was held Thursday morning May 18,1978 at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ponca City. Graveside services were in Hillside Cemetery at Purcell at 3 o'clock that afternoon with Father John O'Brien officiating.
Besides her husband Carl, she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Garrett is survived by two sons, Carl C. Jr. of LaJunta, Colo.; James R. of Sand Springs; a sister, Deania Dufran, Stockton, Colo.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister in law Mrs. Pearl Ellis of Purcell.

Graveside services for Carl Garrett, age 74, long time resident of Ponca City were held Wednesday February 2, 1972 at the Purcell Hillside cemetery . He was the brother of Mrs. W.W. Ellis, Purcell.
Carl was born on July 25, 1897 and died January 29, 1972. He was married to Cecilia Boudreau on January 8, 1920 . He was a long time employee of Santa Fe Railroad and retired as chief clerk to the Santa Fe agent in 1965.
Reqium mass services was held Wednesday morning in Ponca City with the service here conducted by Father John O'Brien of Our Lady of Victory Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia of the home, two sons Carl C. and James R.; sisters, Mrs. Ellis, Purcell; Mrs. Avis Johnston and Miss Iva Garrett, Oklahoma City.
