Joyce Ann Fondoble, age 88 of Wayne, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Lexington Nursing Home.

Joyce was born June 22, 1932 in Wakeeney, KS, to Louis and Sarah (Allphin) Fondoble. She was raised in Ellis, Kansas and graduated from Ellis High School in 1950. She then attended college in Hays, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Health and Physical Education. After college, Joyce joined the Red Cross, serving overseas in many regions. She returned to the States, settling in Okla. City, getting a degree in education and beginning her teaching career. Joyce dedicated her life to teaching and mentoring students, and retired from Jackson Junior High School after a long and distinguished career. She spent her retirement years on the C & F Farm near Wayne, with dear friend and companion, Aletta Crabtree. She farmed, raised cattle, enjoyed fishing, and just loved being outdoors. She worked crossword puzzles, loved listening to jazz and built her own mandolin so she could teach herself to play “When The Saints Go Marching In”. She was an avid sports fan, loved eating out, and looked forward to outings at her favorites, Punkins, Bakers Pizza and Bravos. Joyce was faithful to the Wayne United Methodist Church and a friend to many. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Louis and Sarah Fondoble; Sister, Reta Faye, brothers, Denzel, Delton, Zealen , Azel and Vernice and her dear friend, Aletta Crabtree.

Joyce is survived by: Several nieces, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers, Jill and Elaine Arnold; special friends, Ted Capps, Mark Woodell and Ray Jones and many other friends.

Graveside Services were held 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 16, 2020, at Hillside Cemetery. Send online condolences @ www.wilsonlittle.com.
