Lois Ann Coates was born March 17, 1952 in Barstow, CA. She was the youngest of 3 daughters of Robert LeRoy Coates and Berniece Eileen (Wagoner) Coates. Being the daughter of a career military man, Lois was quite open to the many adventures that come with it, and quickly became a daddy’s girl. At an early age, Lois welcomed a baby girl, Shannon, into her heart. They were inseparable, and Lois managed to make life work for them. They moved east to Oklahoma to be closer to family. At this time, Lois worked for Wal-Mart in Sallisaw, and as chance would have it, relocated to the Purcell store. It was here she met her best friend and life partner, Curtis Randall Fisher. They fell in love and were married December 28, 1991 at Union Hill Baptist Church in Purcell. Lois loved people, and she truly never met a stranger. She was an excellent cook and shared her talents with many family and friends. She had a huge heart and especially for her grandchildren. She was a true friend. In her later years, she faced many obstacles, but remained positive and strong in the face of it all.
