Cordelia “Sis” Estes age 85 of Purcell, was called home by her Lord on Friday, May 12, 2017 after an extended illness.

She was born August 1, 1931 in Purcell. Cordelia was the 4th of ten children born to Willie Dee Newton Hackney and Lou Ada (Hall) Hackney. Her brothers and sisters called her ‘Sis” which was how she was known by most of her friends and family throughout her life. Sis grew up in Purcell, attended Purcell schools and lived in Purcell all her life. Sis worked as a waitress her entire life, working at local restaurants including; Circle A, Castle Rock Café, Pete’s and Re-Pete’s and lastly at Ann’s Place where she worked until she retired in her early 70’s. Sis grew up a country girl and enjoyed being in the outdoors. She liked fishing and boating, watching sports, especially Oklahoma Sooner football. Most of all she loved her dogs.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Willie and Lou Ada Hackney; Four brothers, John, James, Ed and Joe Hackney; Three sisters, Imogene Sawyer, Betty Vaughn and Noveline Followill; Three husbands, Jack Oswalt, George Phillips and Bud Estes;

She is survived by: Daughter, Jacqueline Reed and husband Harold of Dibble; Two granddaughters, Traci and Trisha Reed of Dibble; One brother, Tom Hackney and wife Betty of Chickasha; One sister, Hazel Arnold of Dibble; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery.

The family extends its thanks to Sunset Estates and Frontier Hospice for the care and support provided during Sis last days.
