Caroline Dowell, age 71 of Oklahoma City, passed away Saturday, October 20 2018.

Caroline Gafford was born February 25, 1947 in Oklahoma City, 1 of 4 daughters born to Buck and Irene “Pat” Gafford. She was raised in Okla. City and attended school there. She graduated from Central High School in 1965. Caroline married Michael C. Best and together they raised two children, son Greg and daughter Mandy. Caroline worked for many years as a sales agent in food distribution for United Home Foods. She later moved to Eufaula, and it was here that she met Richard Dowell. In her late 50’s, she was like a giddy school girl. She felt they were soul mates, destined to be together. They married and two families became one. Her greatest joy was being with family, sharing her love, and making people happy. She loved all of her family dearly, including her dog Bear, who she treated more like a child than an animal. Caroline was a woman of great faith, and a dear friend to many. She was witty, and kind hearted and will be most remembered for her fun and free spirit. She will be dearly missed!
