Billy Diggs age 78 of Purcell, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Billy Walter Diggs was born November 7, 1936, in the Hess Community near Altus, OK. His parents were Doss E. Diggs and Mabel O. (Atcusson) Diggs. He was raised in the Hess Community and attended school there. At the age of 17, Billy joined the United States Army and served his country proudly. After his service, he returned home to Oklahoma to further his education. He took classes at Rose State and later at the University of Oklahoma where he earned a Psychology Degree. Billy worked as a project manager in construction for many years. He could build anything and it was said that he was a “jack of all trades”. When not working, he enjoyed fishing and he never missed an opportunity to shop the flea markets. As fate would have it, he met his future wife, Susan Sharp while at the flea markets. They fell in love and were married on February 26, 2004 in Gainesville, TX. They made their home in Purcell. Billy cherished his family first and foremost. He was a wonderful husband and father; grandfather, brother, uncle and true friend. Billy was a devout, Spiritual man! He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Doss Diggs and Mabel Diggs Poindexter and His son, Danny Robert Sharp and 9 siblings.

Billy leaves behind: His wife, Susan Diggs of the home; 4 daughters, Teresa Clare and husband Frank of Blanchard, Lisa McElroy of Moore, MaDonna Fox of Norman and Clarissa Moore and husband Robert of South Korea; 2 sons, John Diggs and wife Jennifer of Moore and Gene Davis and wife Tia Davis of Denton, TX; His brother, Tommy Diggs and wife Jean of Shawnee; 23 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 30, 2015, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
