David Dickerson, age 49 of Purcell, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday December 15, 2013. David Michael Dickerson was born August 27, 1964 in Norman, OK, the only child of Billy Jay Dickerson and Loretta Sue (Caskey) Dickerson. He was raised in Purcell and attended Purcell Schools, graduating in 1982. He then attended Oklahoma State University for a short time before moving back home and attending an Insurance Specialty Class at OU. David married his best friend and true love; a young lady named Diane Lynn Curry on June 29, 1984 in Purcell. They made their home there where together they raised their 3 daughters, Chelsea, Taylor and Cameron. David loved his “girls”. He loved following them in all of their various activities and sporting events. He rarely missed a basketball or softball game, because he was their biggest fan! David cherished Diane. He was a hard worker and a great provider for their family. He sacrificed much so they could drive better cars and he greatly enjoyed taking family vacations, and especially cruises. For many years David worked as a mortgage broker, and more recently as a Senior Account Manager for Dell Computers. David loved computers and you could always count on him to find a good concert ticket or the next great deal. David was a huge fan of “ALL” things Sooners. More recently he had spent most of his time spoiling his grandson, Cru. David was a good friend to many, and will be greatly missed!

David leaves behind: His wife, Diane, of the home; Daughters, Chelsea Dickerson and Ivan Venegas, and their son, Cru, Taylor Dickerson and Cameron Dickerson, all of Purcell; His parents, Bill and Sue Dickerson of Purcell; Parents-in-law, W.B. and Marlene Curry of Purcell; Brother and Sister-in-laws, Stephen Curry of Garden City, KS and Carol Blevins and husband Bobby of Yukon; Nieces and Nephews, Libby Blevins, Bobbie Strange, Will Blevins, Clay Blevins, Travis Curry, Rylan Strange, Hayden Strange, Lilly Blevins, Will Blevins Jr., Colton Curry and Lincoln Curry; And a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Dickerson Memorial Fund % First American @ P.O. Box 1560, Purcell, OK, 73080.
