Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Wadley's Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery under the care of
Wadley's Funeral Service.
Donna was born October 28, 1930 in Harvey, Illinois to Dutch and Reba
(Thomas) Messer. She raised four children and loved family gatherings
with the numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and even
great-great grandchildren. Donna always had M&M’s stocked up for the
next grandbaby that came to visit. She took great joy in interacting
with them through social media, saving every picture. Donna received her
first I-Pad at the age of 80, and never having used any electronics,
took to it like a champion. She downloaded the Bible and found so much
pleasure in studying scripture daily. Donna loved card games, and had a
very special way with animals, caring for 3 or 4 dogs daily. She was the
strongest link in her family’s lives, and will never be forgotten.
Donna’s strong sense of independence, strength and generosity were
admired by all.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Deaton; and son-in-law, Ancel Horton.
Survivors include her four children, Penny Broom and husband, Robert, Peggie Horton, Paul "Butch" Aldridge, Keith Aldridge; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
