Funeral services for Frank Ray Davis were held 10 AM
Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Bethlehem Primitive
Baptist Church in Purcell OK with Elder Mike Hughes
officiating. Interment followed at the Hillside Cemetery
in Purcell under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral
Home in Purcell.
Frank Ray Davis was born November 11, 1922 in Tipton
OK., the first of two children born to Andy Lee Davis
and Beulah (Blume) Davis and passed away Sunday February
10, 2013 with his family by his side. He was under the
care of Sunset Estates Loving Care Hospice and recently
Westbrook Gardens.
He grew up in Tipton and attended school there. Frank
was an aviation machinist mate in the U. S. Navy from
1943 to 1946 and was very proud of his service years
during WWII on a PBY seaplane. After the war he worked
for McDonnell Douglas in Los Angeles California. He
later returned to Tipton and there he began calling on a
young lady by the name of Ila Marie Richards. They were
married on February 11, 1949 and after 54 years of
marriage were only separated by Marie’s death in
November of 2003. He retired from GTE in 1988 after 41
years of service to the telephone company in Oklahoma
and Texas. Frank was a faithful member and Deacon of the
Primitive Baptist Church. His memory will be cherished
by those that knew him. His simple and spiritual life
lived with integrity which was a testimony to the
character of the man.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his
Parents: Andy and Beulah Davis and his only Sister,
Francis Hooper.
Surviving him are his 2 Children: Ranae Hamilton &
husband Darrell of Purcell Darrin Davis & wife Leslie of
Purcell 5 Grandchildren: Devin Hamilton & wife Nicki of
Blanchard Amanda Orr & husband Justyn of Purcell Wade
Davis of Norman Bragg Davis and Elizabeth Davis of
Purcell; 4 Great Grandchildren: Ava Orr and
Andrew,Daniel and Quinn Hamilton.
