Peggy Cunningham, age 90 of Purcell, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021. Peggy Jo Harlan was born February 1, 1931 in Byars, OK, the 3rd of 5 children born to David Franklin Harlan and Myrtle Glenn (Lannom). She spent her earlier years in Byars and later Purcell where she attended school. Peggy married William Albert “Babe” Cunningham and together they raised a son, Joe. Peggy worked as a Claims Agent for Aetna Insurance Group for several years. To Peggy, family was everything. She was very close with her siblings, and enjoyed playing dominos and cards for hours and hours. She looked forward to the holidays, and planning and preparing for Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday dinners. Peggy could be a bit onery and at times opinionated, but her heart was good and she truly loved people. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: her son, Joe Cunningham; husband, Babe Cunningham; parents, David and Myrtle Harlan; sisters, Voncil Allen and Phyllis “Nooker” Pritchett; brother Bob Harlan and her sister-in-law Jean Harlan, and brothers-in-law, W.T. Merrell, Micky Allen and Monk Pritchett.
Peggy is survived by: two sisters, Patsy Merrel of Purcell and Linda Marsh of Duncan; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside Services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Monday, May 24, 2021, at Hillside Cemetery. Send online condolences @ www.wilsonlittle.com
