Funeral services for Zelpha Cobb, 91, of Purcell will be held today (Thursday) April 17, 2003 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Brown officiating.
Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cobb died April 14, 2003 at her home. She was born Nov. 14, 1911 in Thomas, the daughter of Fernando Tomes and Mary Elizabeth Nash Tomes. She was reared in Thomas. On Feb. 10, 1948 she married John Cobb in Kansas. They lived in Perryton, Texas, where Mr. Cobb worked in the oil fields. When he retired, they moved to Purcell. Mrs. Cobb attended Purcell First Baptist Church and for the past three years she had been attending Johnson Road Baptist Church with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Cobb on March 3, 1993; three daughters, Evelyn Ray, Marsha Wear and Janice Hoggard and two brothers, Fonzo Tomes and Ira Tomes.
Survivors include a daughter, Johnna Cobb of Purcell; a son-in-law, Tom Hoggard of Midwest City; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
