Larry Phillip Clagg, 75, of Blanchard, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at his home.
The son of Phillip Samuel Clagg and Lena Ethel (Wollenberg) Clagg, he was born October 7, 1948, in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Larry attended school in Wayne, Oklahoma and graduated with the Bulldog graduating class of 1966, with honors in FFA.
He married the love of his life Mary Lynn Adams of Maysville, Oklahoma, on November 18, 1966.
Larry worked hard and after many years graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Master’s Degree in agriculture. He taught vocational agriculture in Wanette and Dover, Oklahoma before going to work at Bond Bread Co. in 1977. Most of his working life was spent as a route salesman for Wonder Bread and Hostess Cake Companies and he retired after 31 ½ years of dedication and service.
During his spare time, Larry loved working out on the farm, spending time on the land, and working cattle. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Cole, where he was active in Sunday School. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Lena Clagg; his stepmother, Gaye Clagg; and an infant sister.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Clagg of Blanchard; one daughter, Deanna Conrad and husband, Brian, of Blanchard; three sons, James Clagg and wife, Leslie, of Blanchard, Brian Clagg and wife, Heather, of Blanchard, and Brad Clagg and wife, Christy, of Newcastle; two brothers, Garry Clagg and wife, Lana, of Norman, and, Barry Clagg and wife, Sue, of Lindsay; two sisters, Phyllis Davis of Yukon, and Weeta Easton and husband, Alvin, of Moore; stepbrother, Daniel Bramlett of Wynnewood; stepsister, Brenda Garrett of Texas; eleven grandchildren, Brenton, Brandon, Breanna, Brayden, Gerrad, Taylor, Danielle, Denver, Dustin, Logan and Cassidy; ten great grandchildren, Kaine, Paisley, Kolt, Duke, Brooke, Landon, Grayson, Jake, Selina and Festus; one aunt, Anna Baker of Wayne; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 5, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Cole. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
