Mildred “Louise” (Andrews) Carroll passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Louise was born October 27, 1946. She was the 9th of 16 children born to Glen and Gencie Andrews. She graduated with the Washington Warrior class of 1964. During high school, Louise worked at the Dairy Queen where she caught the attention of a special young man. It was nothing short of the perfect love story. Louise married Jim Carroll on July 28, 1964 in Wayne and together they raised 2 children, Allen and Jennifer. The couple enjoyed 58 years together.
Louise was feisty and opinionated. She loved her family, fishing, playing dominoes with her sisters, and visiting with relatives. She was a hard worker, having grown up in a large family. Louise was a meticulous housekeeper, and her summers were kept busy gardening, canning veggies, and tending to her many flowers. Her life was a challenge at times physically, but she made the most out of each day and loved her morning coffee on the porch. She was a longtime active member of Unity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: Daughter, Jennifer Bayless; parents, Glen & Gencie Andrews; sisters, Nadine Andrews, Bonnie Summers, Judy Pope and Bertha Henry; brothers, Isaac Andrews, Martin Andrews, Kenneth Andrews, Henry Andrews, Wayne Andrews and David Andrews; Sister-in-law, Glenna Andrews; and 2 brothers-in-law, Bill Madden and James Henry.
Louise leaves behind: Her Husband, Jim of the home; her son, Allen and wife Jacinda of Wayne; her brother Nathan Andrews and wife Stephanie of Norman; 4 sisters, Verna Madden and husband Jake of Maysville, Norma Jean Madden of Maysville, Kathy Hendrix and husband Jerry of Washington and Helen Ham and husband Harold of Goldsby; sisters-in-law Linda Andrews of Washington and Virgie Andrews of Washington; 4 grandchildren, Jill Lee, Jeff Tomkins, Erin Bowen and Luke Carroll; and 8 great grandchildren, Ciara, Von, Zoe, Jaxson, Jace, Hailey, Tyson and Mia; and a host of family and friends. She was loved immensely and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Little’s Chapel, Wilson-Little. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. www.wilsonlittle.com.
