Longtime Edmond resident, Phillip Don Blagg, age 72 of Purcell, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019.
Phillip was born December 21, 1946 in Kinta, OK, the youngest of 3 children born to Rayford Crane Blagg and Lillian Marie (Shipley) Blagg. He was raised near Edmond and attended Deer Creek Schools, graduating with the Class of 1965. Phillip served as a member of the Oklahoma National Guard for a little more than 6 years. On October 4, 1970, he married his best friend and life partner, Sherry Minyen. They made their home in Edmond where together they raised three children, daughter, Holly and sons, Phillip Jr and Casey. Phillip worked his life as a home builder and interior craftsman. He was a master carpenter and woodworking artist and could do anything with wood. He custom built cabinets and picture frames and at one time owned his own photography business. Phillip loved spending time outdoors, and so much so, he built a cabin at Lake Eufaula. He looked forward to family get togethers; fishing, boating and cook outs. He was a classic car enthusiast and a history buff, who shared a particular interest in Old West Artifacts. He moved to Purcell in 2018 to be closer to family. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband and father, grandfather, brother and a true friend.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Rayford and Marie Blagg and His brother, Bill Blagg.
Phillip is survived by: His wife, Sherry of the home; Daughter, Holly Robinson and husband Dan of Little Elm, TX; Sons, Phillip Don Blagg Jr. of Edmond and Casey Blagg and wife Brandi Christian of Purcell; Sister, Betty Weiss of Edmond; Sister-in-law, Frankie Blagg of Eufaula, OK; Brother-in-law, Mark Minyen of Norman; 7 grandchildren, Britainy Allen, Cassidy Allen, James Robinson, Anna Robinson, Jared Blagg, Layton Blagg and Langley Blagg, And a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends at 9:00 A.M. Friday at Wilson-Little Funeral Home, and all are welcome to come for visitation.
Interment is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
Memorial Services will follow at 2:00 P.M., at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel, 601 S. Kelley, Edmond.
