Terri Smedley Best, age 60 of Purcell, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, surrounded by her family at home.
Terri Lynn Smedley was born February 22, 1957 in Okla. City, OK, the 2nd of 6 children born to Bill Boone and Norma LaVaughn (Yoakum) Smedley. Terri spent her early childhood in Okla. City and Chickasha, before moving to Purcell in 1973, graduating with the Class of 1975. Terri married her best friend and life partner, Danny Dwaine Best on May 10, 1986 in Oklahoma City. They made their home in Bethany and later Purcell, where together they raised 3 sons, Danny II, Sean and Justin. Terri worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in the PR Department for a little more than 15 years. Her greatest joy and most significant accomplishment was her family, and she was never happier to be a stay at home wife and mother. A genuinely loving person, Terri embraced her role as the hub of the family. She enjoyed crafting and art, was an excellent cook, and a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell. For the last several years, Terri fought valiantly as cancer spread throughout her. Through all of this, she remained positive and was a beacon of hope for many facing similar circumstances. Terri was a wonderful wife and mother, sister, aunt and a good friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Bill and Norma Smedley.
Terri leaves behind: Her husband, Danny of the home; Her boys, Danny Best II, Sean Best and Justin Best, all of Purcell; Brother, Bill Smedley II of Tahlequah; Her sisters, Cammie Hughes and husband Gary of Purcell, Susan Roberts and husband Dee of Purcell, Lisa O’Donnell and husband Kevin of Purcell and Tina Chagoya and husband Rick of Carrollton, TX; 1 granddaughter, Lilly Helena Best and A host of other family and friends.
Rosary Services are scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Friday, June 2, 2017, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell.
Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
