Tom “Junior” Bebout, age 86 of Purcell, passed away Monday June 17, 2013, at the Lexington Nursing Home. Thomas F. Bebout JR was born November 23, 1926 in Purcell, the oldest of 8 children born to Thomas Fontaine Bebout SR and Lois Ethel (Mooney) Bebout. He was raised primarily in the Fairview Community and attended school there through the 8th grade. Junior learned at an early age the value of hard work. As a young boy, he worked on the family farm, doing what he could to help his family. Junior served proudly in the United States Army as a member of the 408th Airborne during World War II. After the war, he returned back home to Purcell and married his true love, a young lady named Margie Marie Harper in July of 1947. They made their home in Purcell where together they raised a daughter, Lagaylia and son, Mark. Tom worked as a lineman for the railroad for a short time, before beginning a career as a John Deer Mechanic for P&K in Purcell. He was a member of the Calvary Holiness Church in Purcell. Tom was a simple man. He was a hard worker and a great provider, and a wonderful role model for his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him!
He was preceded in death by: His wife, Margie Harper Bebout; His son, Mark Steven Bebout; His parents, Thomas and Lois Bebout; 2 sisters, Letha Faye “Sis” Mayo and Sue Wilhite and A brother, Jimmie Ray Bebout.
Tom leaves behind: His Daughter, Lagaylia Alfonso and husband Marco Alfonso of Purcell; Grandchildren: Anthony Alfonso, Madison Warren, Katie Bebout and Kyle Bebout; 2 sisters, Mary Lou Howell and Leta Mae “Tiny” Wilson and husband Joe, all of Purcell; 2 brothers, Robert “Bud” Bebout and wife Ruby of Porter, OK and WC “Dub” Bebout and wife Karolyn of Purcell and A host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
