Marilyn Sue Bebout age 65 of Purcell, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Purcell. For 30 long years, Marilyn had fought a courageous battle with M.S. While the disease destroyed her body it could never destroy her sweet spirit or her contagious smile. Marilyn was born August 3, 1948 in Purcell, OK. She was the oldest child of four children born to Homer Oliver Schrader and Lois (Madden) Schrader. Growing up a country girl living south of Purcell, she attended the Purcell schools. At a young age she fell in love and married Dale Bebout. They were married on March 3, 1965 in the Marine Corp Chapel at Camp Pendleton, in Oceanside, California. After Dale returned from Vietnam, they made their home in Purcell, OK. Together they raised Travis, Tim, and Angie, and later welcomed Bobby Allison into their family. Marilyn worked tirelessly as a homemaker, and for 13 years she and her mother owned and operated the Chickasaw Hills Restaurant in Purcell. Marilyn had many talents including cooking and sewing. She loved being in the outdoors and enjoyed all kinds of sports including, snow skiing, water skiing and SCUBA diving. In the 1980’s she spent her time being active in the original “Mama Dragons” cooking for the Dragon football team on Fridays and helping with the All-Sports Booster Club. Marilyn has always been an active supporter of Purcell sports and in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was known to so many as “Grandma Marilyn”. She was a faithful Christian and was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by: Father: Homer Schrader in 1993, A son: Tim Bebout in 1988, A granddaughter: Molli Allison in 2008.

She is survived by: Husband: Dale Bebout of the home, Mother: Lois Schrader of Purcell, Three children: Angie Wren and husband Kevin of Purcell, Travis Bebout of Purcell, Bobby Allison and wife Jennifer of Sulphur, Two sisters: Betty Hale and husband Tom of OKC, Debbie Perry and husband Bo of Purcell A brother: Dale Schrader and wife Ruth of Washington, Six grandchildren: Tyler and Dalton Bebout, Colton, Riley and Avery Wren, and Aaron Allison, one great granddaughter: Blaine Bebout, also several aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Purcell. Interment will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Memorials may be made in her honor to the Purcell All Sports Booster Club, P.O. Box 363, Purcell, OK. 73080 or at the First American Bank.
