Janette Viola Troutman-Bacon age 84 of Lexington, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Lexington Nursing Home.
Janette was born on January 15, 1939 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was the third child of four girls born to Albert Clarence King and Mary Esther Clay. Janette grew up and attended school in Azle, Texas.
She later married the love of her life, Raymond Troutman on December 4, 1955 and together raised two children, Charlie and Barbara. Janette and Raymond lived in various town before moving to Lexington, Oklahoma over 50 years ago.
Janette first worked for Sherri Classic in Purcell as a Steam Presser. She later went to work for Dollar General in Purcell and soon became store manager. Before retiring after working 20 years, she had worked in three different store locations in Purcell. Janette was an extremely hard worker and she tried to train all of her coworker that same work ethic. She loved her customers and she made numerous friends on a daily basis. One of Janette’s hobbies was making greeting cards and personalizing them. This way the person who received the card would know her true feeling about how much she really cared for them. She also loved to write poetry and make flower arrangements.
After Raymond Troutman passed away in 1990, Janette later married Raymond Bacon. He too preceded her in death.
Janette was a devout Christian and strong in her faith. Every time you talked to her, you knew how she felt about her belief in the Lord. Janette loved her family and treated her friends like family, some whom she adopted as her own kids. You were always welcome in her home and when you left, she gave you a hug and “I Love You”! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, A.C. and Ester King, Husband, Raymond Troutman, Son, Charlie Troutman, 2 sisters, Marie Holcomb and husband Bob, and Nancy Halbrook and husband Don. Nephew, Bruce Albert, Brother-in-law, Bruce Edward Kirk., And adopted daughter Marilyn Christian.
She is survived by: Daughter, Barbara Tucker and husband Jim of Lexington, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, Sister, Neomi Kirk of Springtown, Texas, Sister-n-law, Sue Livingston of Weatherford, Texas, Adopted daughter, Laquetta McGaha and husband Tommy and their daughter, Anna of Purcell.
Graveside Funeral Services will be, 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, OK. Visitation will be on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 9-5 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Send online condolences at www.wilsonlittle.com.
