Charles R. Bacon, age 65 of Purcell, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013, at his home. Charles was born April 18, 1948 in Chickasha, OK, the baby of 3 children born to Raymond Bacon and Iva Pearl (Maynard) Bacon. He grew up in Washington and attended Washington Schools, graduating in 1966. He then attended East Central University in Ada for a couple years. As fate would have it, he met his true love on a blind date. They fell in love and Charles married Peggy Ann Paxson on June 6, 1970 in Hennessey, OK. Together they raised a daughter, Frances and son, Dale. Charles worked for Westinghouse and later York as a sheet metal operator before retiring in 2010. He enjoyed being outdoors, and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. Charles was a joker, and he never missed an opportunity to prank someone. He cherished his grandchildren and stayed very active supporting them in the various activities and interests. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by: His wife, Peggy in 2007 and His mother, Iva in 2012.

Charles leaves behind: His son, Dale Bacon and wife Kristi of Edmond; His daughter, Fran Wilson and husband Eric of Lexinton; His father, Raymond Bacon of Purcell; His brother, Ralph Bacon and wife Margaret of Owasso, OK; His sister, Delyorce Rebouche of Cedar Rapids, IA; 4 grandchildren, Blake & Cameron Wilson and Kendall & Carter Bacon and A host of other family and friends.

A Graveside Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday November 13, 2013, at the Hillside Cemetery.
