Isaac Martin Bond was born at Ireton, near Alex, I.T., June 30, 1904. He passed away Friday, January 4, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 30 years, 6 months, and 4 days.
Ike graduated from Lindsay, Oklahoma High School in 1924 and then from Draughans Business College in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Law School at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee in 1928. He was admitted to the bar of Oklahoma and practiced law until his passing. He had been an active member in the Christian Church in Lindsay. During his residence in Oklahoma City, he was an active member of the First Christian Church.
Funeral services were at the Christian Church in Lindsay, Sunday afternoon, January 6, 1935, and were conducted by an old friend, Dr. Rawls Anderson, assisted by B.M. Hopkins, pastor of the church.
According to an article in The Lindsay News, “following the service Sunday at the Christian Church, attended by hundreds of sorrowing friends, an interment took place in Green Hill Cemetery.”
He was survived by his widow, Vera Adele Bond, and infant daughter, Dora Anne; parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.N. Bond, Lindsay; three brothers and six sisters, L.R. Bond, Portland, Oregon; L.N. Bond, California; B.N. Bond, Jr, Monterey, California; Mrs. Lela Willard, Lewisville, Texas; Mrs. J.D. Harmon and Mrs. Lottie Peters, Oklahoma City; Mrs. D.M. Hopkins, Chickasha; Mrs. Maxey Harrell, Dibble; and Mrs. Dora Luton, Salinas, California.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ollie Fitzpatrick.
