Donna Zell (Jackson) Ladd, 83, of Blanchard, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 in Norman, Oklahoma. The daughter of Ruby (Hardage) and W.T. “Dink” Jackson, she was born October 8, 1930 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Donna married Ernest Elwood Ladd on October 24, 1947 in Dare, Oklahoma. She worked for many years as a wireman for Western Electric until her retirement. She and her husband owned and operated Ladd Alignment in Blanchard for many years. Donna was a member of Skyline Missionary Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, word searches, and jigsaw puzzles. Her greatest enjoyment came from spoiling her grandkids and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Shirley Clagg, Joan Murray, and Tommie Hobson.
Donna is survived by her husband of 66 years, Elwood Ladd of Blanchard; two daughters, Kayla Gilbert of Norman, and Karla Loader and husband, Brian, of Colorado; two sons, Allan Ladd and wife, Lynette, of Florida, and Kevin Ladd and wife, Deborah, of Mustang; seven grandchildren, Derek Jones of Norman, William “Thom” Ladd and wife, Melissa, of Louisiana, Nanette Allen and husband, Joe, of California, Natalie Oakes and husband, Larry, of New York, Noelle McWilliams and husband, George, of New Jersey; Brooke Ladd of Colorado, and Trevor Ladd of Mustang; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Urban of Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard. Interment will follow in the Dibble Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s research. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
