Michael Gene Dollar, Sr., of Blanchard,
Oklahoma went home to be with his Lord at the age of 59.
Michael passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on
Thursday, August 28, 2014. Michael was born October 3, 1954
in Sulphur, OK; he is the youngest son of 7 children born to
Harley Stanford Dollar JR and Ozella Geneva (Murphy) Dollar.
In his early childhood years Michael lived in Lacy, Oklahoma
then moved to Oklahoma City for one year. In 1970 the family
made Dibble, Oklahoma their permanent residence where
Michael attended Dibble High School. As a young adult
Michael worked for a Monument Company in Chickasha. He also
enjoyed the art of cabinetry and worked for several years in
that field. In the mid to late eighties Michael drove a rock
truck with his Father in their family owned truck business.
Due to health issues Michael semi-retired from full time
work. However; he worked part-time in the fencing industry
through late 2003 until continued health issues forced him
into full retirement. Michael was a true jack of all trades.
Michael was a caring son, brother, and uncle. He greatly
enjoyed spending time with his family. Michael loved fishing
and hunting with his nephews. He was known to share the
occasional fisherman's catch of the day tale. He liked to
noodle and brag about the monster catch of the day. Michael
was also mechanically inclined and enjoyed restoring old
cars. Mike was the family mechanic for years, he was a motor
head, however; hotrods were his passion in his early
adulthood. His favorite classic car was his Pontiac GTO.
Michael was an artist and gifted musician-composer who
enjoyed the creative process. He loved to play his guitar
and sing and could hold his own in any music jam with his
nephews whom he inspired to learn about music. Michael was a
natural talent and he shared that knowledge with anyone who
wanted to learn at no charge. Michael believed God blessed
him with his musical talent. He enjoyed sharing that gift
with family and friends. Michael was a blessing to his
family and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and
loved him. Those who knew Michael understand that He is with
God in Heaven and his suffering is over. Michael is enjoying
his new life with the Lord Jesus Christ for all eternity.
