Phillip Gale Davis, 70, of Dibble, died March 5, 2012, in Norman, Oklahoma. The son of Mary Emogene (Herron) and Orland Leaford Davis, he was born March 13, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He began his ministry at Grace Rescue Mission at the age of 15. Phil pastored the First Baptist Church of Roff, Midway Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Booker, Texas, Criner Baptist Church and Friends Baptist Church. Phil married Thelma Mae Bridges on November 26, 1959 in Wheatland, Oklahoma. He was a ham radio operator and enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, and hunting for treasures with his metal detector. Phil loved fishing and collecting guns, but his greatest love was his family. He was a loving husband, father and an adoring grandfather and great grandfather. Phil served his community by volunteering with the Dibble Police Department and Dibble Fire Department where he was one of the founders.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gerald and Donnie Davis; and sister, Gwendolyn Davis.

Survivors include his wife Thelma of Dibble; son, Tony Davis and wife Janice of Oklahoma City; daughters, Patty Davis of Noble, Mary Laseur and husband Butch of Noble; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Orland Leaford Davis, Jr. and wife Berry of Ardmore; numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Midway Baptist Church in Dibble. Chaplain Jimmy Ogle will officiate with interment held in the Dibble Cemetery. Donations may be made to Baptist Children’s Home, 16301 S. Western, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73170. Arrangements under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
