John Douglas Woods, 57, of Alex, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, at his home. The son of James Lavoy Woods, Sr. and Martha Jo (Chamberlain) Woods, he was born May 25, 1960 in Chickasha.
He worked many years as a project manager for the U Haul Company and Americo Real Estate. John married Buanita Jean Clark on July 12, 1992 in Blanchard. He was a member of Countryside Baptist Church in Lindsay. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, OU football, Nascar, and sports talk radio.
John was preceded in death by his father; one granddaughter, Lexi Selsor; father-in-law, Taylor Clark; and brother-in-law, David Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Buanita Woods, of Alex; two daughters, Kristen Selsor and her husband, Chad, of Dibble, and Bethani Woods of Alex; one son, Curtis Wilson of Alex; his mother, Jo Woods of Florida; his “adopted children,” Carli Dean of Blanchard, Courtney Reeves of Missouri, Deonna Clanton of Lawton; two grandchildren, Laynie Selsor and Lorelei Selsor, both of Dibble; one sister, Tina Cruz and her husband, Joe, of Midwest City; five brothers, Jim Woods, Jr., of Kansas, Greg Woods and his wife, Robin, of North Carolina, Joey Woods of Florida, Jason Woods and his wife, Traci, of Tuttle, and Tony Badger and his wife, Donna, of Tuttle; his mother-in-law, Juanita Clark, of Dibble; brother-in-law, Eddie Clark, of Blanchard and sister-in-law, Edna Clark, of Vian; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.
Burial will follow in the Hale Cemetery in Dibble. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
